message from the president . . .
Welcome to the first edition of TALK for 2008. I hope that all members will take
the opportunity to review the newsletter and find its information useful.
As
this edition goes to print all of the Divisions should be in the process of
having their Spring Workshops or are close to that date. It is my hope that the
member’s who can will attend these workshops since they have historically been
very informative. I would also like to remind all members of our Scholarship
offered by NCPPA and that the deadline is June 13, 2008. The application can be
found online at our website: www.ncppa.com
Our
2008 NCPPA Training Institute will be held October 29 – 31, 2008 at the Sheraton
Atlantic Beach, located at 2717 W. Fort Macon Rd Atlantic Beach NC. All members
can visit our website to obtain information regarding reservations. Based on
prior history this will be a truly wonderful event and rooms will go quickly so
don’t delay.
Lastly, I would like to address membership numbers. As an Association we are
the voice for our profession in North Carolina. There is only one NCPPA in
North Carolina and we are only as strong as our membership numbers!! As in
years past the goal of this year’s Executive Board is to strive and work hard
toward increasing our membership numbers. I encourage everyone within NCPPA to
continue pushing the fundamentals of our Association among our colleagues, in
hopes of soliciting new members.
